James Snell

Hey Nevon, just a minor point: both Harriet and Willy have blogs on the IBM intranet.

James, thanks for that bit of extra knowledge.

I think that's a useful fact that could be mentioned somewhere in the presentation material. Adds to their credibility and of course would head off any questions about do they blog or not.

Harriet Pearson

Neville, thanks for your post on IBM's "blog feature," and your encouragement to Willy and me to have our own blog. As James pointed out, we are both blogging, but we are doing it withing IBM's intranet, engaging our 320,000 or so colleagues.

My real goal is to get not just me into the blogosphere, but to encourage 10 or 100 or even 1,000 smart IBMers to join the conversation! Even so, next step for me personally is to blog outside of IBM's firewall...probably, since I've been working a lot on health care policy, on IBM's Healthnex blog (shamless plug, yes I know--see http://healthnex.typepad.com/web_log/). Watch this space!

Harriet, thanks for your comment. That's an impressive resource you've linked to. Very interesting to see what IBMers are talking about in the healthcare area.

Looking forward to reading your thoughts and engaging on your new public blog!

Jack Mason

If you check out HealthNex today, you'll see that how were extending today's news about IBM's genetic privacy policy in a blog post on this important topic.

Jack, thanks for that info. If I were in the healthcare or a related area, that is a blog I would definitely want to be paying close attention to.

Some of the bloggers are doing it for the sake of earning their living hoods but it doesn't mean everyone is intended to do so.
